Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data this site collects, why, on what legal basis, how long it is kept and who has access to it, in application of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act.

What we collect
Only what you type into the enquiry form on the contact page: your first and last name, your email address, and, if you choose to give them, your telephone number and the country you are travelling from. Alongside those, the details of your project: the type of event, the date or period you have in mind, the approximate number of guests, the number of guests needing accommodation, and your message.
This site does not use any advertising or audience-measurement tracker. No profile is built, and no automated decision is taken about you.
Why we collect it, and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and tell you whether your date is free. Legal basis: your consent, given by sending the form, and the performance of pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(a) and (b) GDPR).
- To prepare a quotation or a booking contract, where your enquiry leads to one. Legal basis: performance of a contract or of pre-contractual steps.
Your details are never used to send you commercial messages you have not asked for, and are never sold.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept for three years from our last contact with you, then deleted. Where a booking is signed, the file is kept for the period required by accounting and tax law, which is ten years.
Who receives it
Your details are seen by the owners of the estate and by the members of the team who need them to answer you. Three service providers, acting as processors, are technically involved:
- Web3Forms (web3forms.com), which relays the contact form to our mailbox. It handles the content of the form.
- Vercel Inc., which hosts the site and therefore its technical connection logs.
- Google Ireland Limited, for the map embedded on the contact page. Loading that map sends your IP address to Google. The rest of the site loads no Google resource: the fonts are hosted on our own server precisely so that no third party is contacted.
Transfers outside the European Union
Web3Forms and Vercel are established in the United States. These transfers take place on the basis of the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, of the EU‑US Data Privacy Framework. Google Ireland Limited is established in the Union but may transfer data to its parent company under the same guarantees.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and portability of your data, the right to restrict or object to its processing, and the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to info@chateaudelavalouze.com and we will answer within one month.
If you consider that your rights are not respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL: 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France, cnil.fr.
Cookies
This site places no advertising or tracking cookie. It stores one piece of information in your browser, locally: the fact that you have acknowledged the cookie notice, so that it does not come back on every page. That information never leaves your device.
Loading the map on the contact page may cause Google to place its own cookies. You can prevent that by not opening the contact page, or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Enquiries are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in mailboxes protected by a password and, where the provider allows it, by two-factor authentication.
Changes to this policy
This policy may change, in particular if a new service is added to the site. The date at the top of the page always shows the version in force.
